Part of our “Art and Artists are Essential” collection and invitation.
“What I do visually is very much influenced by my academic training and what I see during my research. The sensibility towards order and abstraction is inherently embedded within myself, but is common of artists as well as scientists. To ignore this is shortsighted and limiting for both. I try to structure my work to be a bridge—a visual hook that serves to engage first, and then to then talk about the science. At the same time I would like to achieve works that have artistic merit by themselves.
The silver lining among this madness: I have been afforded the time to actually dedicate time to think and execute some more deliberate art pieces.”
