Ira Knight is a playwright, director, and author, and he is also a business system analyst for Duke Student Affairs. On January 30 and 31, 2020, Knight presented “From Myth To Man: Martin Luther King, An Interpretation” in the Rubenstein Arts Center as part of its arts projects program.
Ira shares a recording of the Jan 30 performance, along with these thoughts for the campus creative community:
“Remember to take inventory of what we have and not what we lack. In the midst of our physical isolation, we have electricity and technology to remain virtually connected and mentally active. Imagine our state if the internet did not exist.
The play [“From Myth To Man: Martin Luther King, An Interpretation”] is timely year-round (and not seasonal) as it connects and reminds us of our common humanity, inspiring us to focus on what we can each do to create better days ahead.”— Ira Knight
