Bryan Center Plaza, Five Points Plaza, Rubenstein Arts Center
Presented by Duke Arts Presents
Take a spin on this public installation by Montreal’s LeMonde Studios, presented by Duke Arts in three locations on campus and in Durham. The futuristic bikes of Light Lane power up when pedaled, projecting art on the ground beside each bike, and playing music selected by the artists. Celebrating the arts and community while provoking conversation about sustainability and climate change, Light Lane is an invitation to all to engage and interact with art.
Light Lane features three bikes at each of three locations: Bryan Center Plaza on Duke’s West Campus, Five Points Plaza, and the Rubenstein Arts Center. Each bike projects a different work of art; one bike in each trio was designed by Duke Arts, and the other two by Durham artists selected in partnership with Let’s Talk Durham.
