About the Project

With the generous support of the Benenson Award, I embarked on a journey to uncover my Tibetan lineage through the power of music. The Award supported me in creating a studio album consisting of eight tracks, each sung in Tibetan and English, reflecting profound themes of love and loss, freedom and imprisonment, and the essence of home, or the absence of it. This experience has been a tremendous catalyst for personal growth. While I’ve faced doubts about my place in the music industry being one of the only Tibetan-American singers, I’ve emerged from this period with a profound sense of self-love and confidence, thanks to support from the Benenson Award.
