The Mary Duke Biddle Trent Semans Center for Health Education is the main educational facility for the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program. The six-story, 104,000-square-foot health education building opened to students in 2013 and features a floor dedicated to simulation laboratories that can transform from mock clinical exam rooms to surgery suites and emergency rooms.
Medical education administrative offices are located on 8 Searle Center Drive, Durham, NC 27710, behind the Bryan Research building and next to the Medical Center Library & Archives.
Parking: Parking is available in the Duke Medicine Circle Parking Garage, located at 302 Trent Drive.
This parking deck is a short walk from the Trent Semans Center for Health Educaton. This deck charges
$2 per hour, and a maximum of $8 per day. Special Access is available to those who are unable to walk longer distances. You may drop off guests at the lower level of the Trent Semans Center for Health Education, just outside of the Great Hall. There are steps and a ramp for guests at this entrance.
Duke Bus: Students are advised to take the Bassett-Research Bus, which stops close to the Trent Semans Center along Research Drive. Students can also walk from the West Campus Bus Stop to the Trent Semans Center along Research Drive. Health students can take the H1 or H2 routes, which stop at Trent Drive/Baker House and are an 8 minute walk to the Trent Semans Center.
GoDurham Bus: Routes 6, 400, 11, and 11B take you to stops within walking distance of the Trent Semans Center. Route 6 stops at Trent Dr at Duke Hospital South, which is about an 8 minute walk from the Trent Semans Center. Routes 400, 11, and 11B take you to Erwin Road at Downing Street, which is about a 15 minute walk from the Trent Semans Center.
