Paul Kartcheske is the Production Manager for Duke Arts. He has built his career supporting the arts and the events industry for over 30 years. Paul has been involved in many areas of the arts, from performer to funder. He has worked in theatre, film, TV, and visual arts. He has taught art and drawing classes for all age groups, high school film and video production, and has served as a consultant in various areas of art disciplines.
Paul has worked for many Departments around Duke, Theatre Operations within Auxiliary Services, Special Events Services with Event Management, and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens before receiving an opportunity to help build a new theater in Chicago, and past board member for the League of Chicago Theaters.
Now back at Duke, Paul is involved with community outreach as an ambassador for the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board for Liberty Arts in Durham. He has an interdisciplinary background and a passion for connecting with people to develop innovative solutions for the challenges faced by the arts community.
Paul has a BA in Cinema, a minor in Theatre, a MBA, and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke (’07) and has lived in many places, but North Carolina is considered home.
