Caitlyn Smith

Nominated for ACM’s New Female Artist of the Year in 2022, Caitlyn Smith’s story is a lesson in perseverance. Hailing from the small town of Cannon Falls, Minn., Smith began making the 14-hour drive to Nashville at just 19 years old, where she quickly established herself as one of the city’s“most reliable songwriters” (Billboard) by penning singles for the likes of Garth Brooks, Lady A, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton. With 2018’s Starfire, Smith finally got her turn in the spotlight, a bold debut that established her as a rising voice in country music.

Smith will come to the American Tobacco Campus fresh off the release of High, her third solo LP for Monument Records.Self-produced, the album is proud of its influences, from the country icons (Sheryl Crow, Patty Griffin, The Chicks) to the personal favorites (Paul Simon, Harry Styles, The Beatles). It’s just the first of two releases slated for 2022—the other, naturally, is titled Low. But for now, Smith is content to ride this high.

These outdoor concerts are free; no registration is needed. Bring a chair, a blanket, and visit pop-ups by Parker & Otis, Boricua Soul, and Mellow Mushroom for drinks and dinner. The amphitheater is the grassy area below the Lucky Strike water tower and parking is available in one of three nearby decks.
