Singer-songwriter Gregory Porter has garnered wide acclaim for his rich baritone and fusion of jazz, soul, and gospel. Drawing inspiration from legends like Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway, and Stevie Wonder, Porter emerged in 2010 with his Grammy-nominated debut, Water.
After signing with Blue Note Records, Porter’s third album, Liquid Spirit, earned a Grammy and became one of the most streamed jazz albums ever. He’s released more gems since, including Take Me To The Alley, produced by his long-time mentor Kamau Kenyatta, and Nat King Cole & Me, a tribute to Porter’s childhood hero.
As powerful as Porter’s voice is on a recording, to see him live is a transporting experience. Part town hall, part jazz club, part church – Porter’s voice soars in any venue, always supported by a talented band of jazz artists.
