About the Workshop

This workshop will present a holistic view of the architecture industry, from project design to construction close-out, using immersive, hands-on design activities to give participants an understanding of this highly complex and often misunderstood discipline.

About the Instructors

William H. Dodge is a principal at the design firm Hanbury whose experience as an architect ranges from owner to designer to manufacturer. He has a deep understanding of the “arts,” “research,” “innovation,” “entrepreneurship” and “learning” program types. An award-winning researcher, Dodge has a propensity for innovation and a seemingly inexhaustible enthusiasm for intriguing possibilities which often manifest themselves in unexpected but insightful ways.

Over his 10+ years as a project architect and lead designer on a wide variety of projects, Jesse Green has developed a creative and detail-oriented approach to helping clients define their goals and achieve a successful result. His diverse architecture experience, complemented by undergraduate studies in the fine arts, allows him to create designs that are deeply rooted in contextual understanding. His focus is on community, collaboration and innovation spaces.

Austin Chappell, a recent graduate from North Carolina State University’s College of Design, is an architectural designer focussed on manufacturing in architecture and how it might better and more sustainably inform the built environment globally. With an interested in spaces that bring people together, he has designed numerous community- and maker-focused spaces across the nation.
