Cyanotype Fabric Print

Partnership with DukeCreate & DuWell

Taught by Vit Bitencourt

About the Workshop

Come revisit or explore for the first time the 19th century process of Cyanotype. This workshop explores cyanotypes and the sun-print process with fabric. Cyanotype is a photographic process using a solution of iron compounds with objects or photo negatives placed on the material to make a print. The cyanotype is printed using UV light, such as the sun.

This hands on workshop will walk you through a brief history and chemical process behind cyanotype printing. With just a few (very safe!) materials you will leave with beautiful and stable blue prints on fabric.
