Zine Making
Partnership with Duke Arts Create & DuWell

About the Workshop
Zines have an extensive history as a medium of choice for marginalized voices, outcasts, and countercultures. The format—unencumbered by rules relating to form, function, or purpose—allows makers to share their voices without feeling they can’t afford it or that there isn’t an audience for their stories, and to find the approach that best expresses their unique self. In this hands-on workshop, Durham artist Sean Graham (@badcat.studio) will teach some zine construction basics and share some approaches for telling your unique story in zine form.
About the Instructor

Sean Graham is an artist who loves bringing ideas to life. Blending traditional and digital approaches to art and design, Sean brings a unique touch to every project. His passion for creativity and collaboration is inspired by a long line of family artists. When Sean would get in trouble as a kid, his mother would punish him by taking his crayons away. Originally from Dallas, Sean moved to Durham in 2019 after living in New Orleans.
