Make A ZineTaught by Orvokki Crosby
About the Workshop
A zine is a self-published, non-commercial magazine, typically devoted to an unconventional subject matter. In this hour long Zoom workshop, students will learn about zines by seeing examples of zines from the past to present, while creating pages for a collaborative zine. This zine’s subject matter will focus on how to relax during this unsettling pandemic time period, while at the same providing some needed relaxation to us all. Materials to collect prior to the workshop: paper, drawing utensils, magazines, scissors and glue. Students can share their pages at the end of the workshop on Zoom and/ or email them to The Concern Newsstand. Orvokki will compile the pages into a printable pdf that can be accessed later.
