About the Workshop

Mandalas are known to be very therapeutic in nature. The process of making a mandala is considered to be art meditation and has very calming effects. Join us for a session to unwind and relax with this therapeutic artform. You will be making ornate designs with intricate patterns that will come to life with vibrant colors. About the Instructor

Anvita Kulshrestha is a geneticist by day and an artist by night! Hailing from Delhi, India, she completed her undergraduate education in Genetics & Genomics as well as Toxicology from the University of California, Berkeley. After working as a Full-time Research Associate at Yale University, she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Genetics & Genomics from Duke University.

In addition to her scientific pursuits, she is also an accomplished Mandala artist and an avid Calligrapher. She loves experimenting with different art mediums and techniques to create unique amalgamations.

About Duke Arts Create

Duke Arts Create is a series of free, hands-on arts workshops designed to help all Duke students, including graduate and professional students (including Duke Health), as well as Duke faculty and staff develop a variety of creative skills in the visual arts, dance and movement, creative writing and more. Workshops are open to all skill levels and backgrounds. Most workshops are held in the Duke Arts Annex, the Rubenstein Arts Center or the Duke Arts Office 2101 and are typically held weeknights from 6-8 p.m.
