About the Workshop
Where there is dance there is joy! Studies have shown that dance improves memory and boosts our mood in addition to the physical and mental benefits of exercise. In this workshop, you will learn basic jazz and musical theater dance moves that are simple, uplifting, and a total blast to perform. These moves will be strung together in a cardio dance format to guarantee a great workout for your heart. Join us to ignite your creativity, lift your spirits, and boost your physical/mental health!

About the Instructor
Courtney Liu is a Duke alum (Trinity 2013, Psychology), professional dancer (Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake), and recent graduate of the inaugural cohort of Duke’s new M.F.A. in Dance. Courtney has taught dance nationally and internationally for the past 15 years and earned her RYT-200 yoga certification at Mind-Body Centering in Durham.
Currently, Courtney lives between New York and Durham and stays busy performing, teaching, and choreographing for a variety of schools, universities, and dance companies. Courtney and her fiancé, Troy, also teach and choreograph through Save the First Dance LLC, a company dedicated to making special events even more magical through dance.
