Antony Hamilton
& Alisdair Macindoe

January 30 – February 3, 2018

This February, award-winning Australian choreographer Antony Hamilton and multi-talented sound designer, instrument builder, and dancer Alisdair Macindoe bring MEETING, their new work of dance, to Duke’s Rubenstein Arts Center. Set to mechanical music generated at random by a computer algorithm, MEETING explores the intersection of industry and art, artificial intelligence and the human body. Hamilton and Macindoe’s residency at Duke will include engagements with the Duke Dance Program and the Pratt School of Engineering. The artists will additionally be holding a post-show Q&A with the audience immediately after the performance on Thursday, February 1 and two 30-minute demonstrations of the robots used in the production, which will take place at 1:30 and 3pm on Saturday, February 3 as part of the opening celebration of the Rubenstein Arts Center.
