Cris Culton

Originally from Venice, California, Cris loves the beach, art, and the unusual. They attended UC Santa Cruz, living in the beautiful Redwood forest and its spirit of place. Now in their final semester as a Phd Candidate in Global History at Duke University, they look forward to a career as an art-forward humanities thinker-teacher. Cris is also a poetry and short story writer, having crafted numerous funky and sometimes melancholic Zines. They also dabble in the visual arts, focusing on watercolor and oil pastel painting. Cris believes in imagining utopia, and advocates for a world beyond exploitation and domination as function. A trans Latine, they have supported the work of local and national pro-trans, pro-immigrant, and pro-justice organizing.
