Small Town Records (STR) is Duke’s student-run record label. Student artists, producers, marketers, audio engineers, and others work together to create amazing projects that often end up on Spotify and other streaming music providers. STR artists have performed at major venues such as New York City’s Apollo Theater and opened for artists including Mt. Joy, Rico Nasty, and Aminé.

This summer, STR is hosting a summer series to educate students on the ins and outs of the music industry with a special emphasis on addressing traditional barriers to entry. STR is an organization that prides itself on diversity, and its executive board is primarily POC, women, and LGBTQ+ identifying. Each session will also end with information about the artist audition process and how else to get involved with STR during the Fall semester.

Join STR on Zoom Mondays at 6pm for its Summer Session. For the session schedule and Zoom links, follow STR on Instagram @dukesmalltownrecords or Facebook.
