Inside Arts+: The Duke Arts Presents Admin Team

Over six weeks, the Duke Arts Presents Admin team from the 2024 Arts+ cohort played a key role in launching the 2024-25 season and supporting our summer concert series, Music in the Gardens. From researching artists and building event pages to brainstorming community outreach, they gained transferrable, resume-building professional skills. They even scouted talent for the 2024 Duke Arts Block Party.

“On a day-to-day basis, we rotate and work with different teams—marketing, programming, engagement—and we see how everything connects when planning an event calendar,” said Jeslyn Gao.

Jeffrey Broms shared how the experience gave him a full-picture view of arts administration: “One day I come in to find information about local venues. I’m researching different artists. We consider the logistics of Music in the Gardens and what we’re going to do with production. I get an eagle-eye view of what goes on in arts administration.”

The Duke Arts Presents Admin team is back this summer!
