Scholar, artist, and activist Su’ad Abdul Khabeer (University of Michigan) reflects in this evening talk at the John Hope Franklin Center on how intersecting ideas of Muslimness and Blackness both challenge and reproduce the meanings of race in the United States. A response will be provided by Mark Anthony Neal (Chair, Duke African and African American Studies), and a reception will follow the event.
