Music Near The Gardens

The Pinhook owner Kym Register and their band, Meltdown Rodeo, open this set with a signature blend of twang-infused rock. Their set weaves together classic country-rock favorites with original songs that pair queer and counterculture themes with foot-stomping rhythms.
The second set brings a Lavender Country Tribute featuring Adeem the Artist honoring the pioneering work of Patrick Haggerty’s Lavender Country, the first openly gay country album. Adeem the Artist continues Haggerty’s daring legacy to the present day, pairing deep roots sounds with their sharp wit, electrifying stage presence, and unapologetically queer perspective.

Come vibe out with Nathan Bowles + Joe Westerlund + Nicole Mitchell and their mind altering set.
Music Near the Gardens: The Pinhook Edition is a free concert series curated by musician, activist, and The Pinhook owner Kym Register. Hosted by Durham performer Stormie Daie, the series brings five nights of music to Duke’s East Campus.
