Music Near The Gardens

The penultimate concert in the Music Near the Gardens series kicks off with Durham-based artist Anjimile. Their introspective and driving indie-folk music weaves intricate guitar work with lyrical storytelling that explores identity, spirituality, and transformation. Anjimile’s sound is both intimate and expansive – an unforgettable live music experience.
Then, percussive powerhouse group Speed Stick takes the stage with their rhythmic experimentation with bold, genre-defying instrumentation. Their music is both propulsive and hypnotic, and sure to keep you on your toes – literally and figuratively.
The Pinhook at 9 PM
Fresh from Big Ears Music Festival, Lonnie Holley and Lee Bains will lead you from soul quenching southern rock to improvisational and inspirational third eye opening compositions.
Music Near the Gardens: The Pinhook Edition is a free concert series curated by musician, activist, and The Pinhook owner Kym Register. Hosted by Durham performer Stormie Daie, the series brings five nights of music to Duke’s East Campus.
Arrive early to picnic, grab food and beverages from The Palace International, explore the Since4Eva Market (zines, art, clothing, and more), and join in community.
