Jeremy Denk

“Bracing, effortlessly virtuosic, and utterly joyous” (NY Times), Denk has collaborated with Joshua Bell and, like that other sensation, plays with a kind of refined abandon, “adept and exhilarated” (Washington Post). Denk’s sophisticated energy is evident in his “entrancing” take on the Goldberg Variations (NY Times) paired here with two books of études by György Ligeti, famous for scoring Stanley Kubrick films; these intricate, rarely-heard works (1985-2001) are among the finest piano compositions of the 20thcentury.

PROGRAM:
BACH: Goldberg Variations
LIGETI: Études for Piano, 1 & 2

“A magical experience that was one of the best solo performances this year.”
