Join us in celebrating the creative work of Durham Public Schools (DPS) students from Carrington Middle School, Hillside High School, and Northern High School at the inaugural Mary Duke Biddle Duke Arts Fellows Showcase. This culminating event highlights student work developed over the 2025-26 academic year in collaboration with DPS educators, Duke undergraduate students, and Duke faculty mentors.

Durham Public School students will present visual art, creative writing, dance, and theater that explore community through the lens of resilience, identity, family, and connection. This showcase celebrates the power of creative partnership and the impact of a program that supports arts education in our communities.

Refreshments will be provided at both the Rubenstein Arts Center and Nasher Museum of Art. We’ll be updating this event page with more information. Check back soon!

Mary Duke Biddle Duke Arts Fellows is a yearlong academic program offered by Duke Arts that connects Duke undergraduates (Fellows) with Durham Public Schools educators and Duke faculty mentors to support arts education in DPS classrooms. Fellows focus on one discipline, including writing, visual art, dance, theater, and music, to develop impactful arts programming, culminating in a spring capstone experience with DPS students.
