A Roundtable Conversation with Taylor Mac and Durham-based Creatives

Stop by the Pinhook for a thought-provoking roundtable discussion featuring renowned artist Taylor Mac alongside a dynamic group of local queer performers, writers, and multidisciplinary artists. Facilitated by devised theater scholar Johann Montozzi-Wood, this conversation will explore the power in centering queer voices in creative work. Panelists include burlesque performance artist JoRose Burwell, poet and historian Cris Culton, Drag artist and Club ERA owner Naomi Dix, musician and community organizer Jesse Huddleston, entertainer, emcee and show producer Stormie Daie, multidisciplinary artist Monet Noelle Marshall, performance artist and screenwriter Grace Nichols, songspeller and storyteller Kamara Thomas, and actor/writer Dale Wolf. Taking place the day after Duke Arts’ public screening of Taylor Mac’s 24-Decade History of Popular Music, this event offers audiences the chance to witness a rich exchange among artists shaping the cultural landscape in Durham and beyond.
