Project Summary:

Combining forces, Daniel G. Karslake, filmmaker of acclaimed documentaries For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) and For They Know Not What They Do (2019), and Javier De Frutos have written the script of a verbatim play for 12 actors combining characters from both documentaries. The workshop is looking to cast 7 actors to play multiple roles stemming from the original documentaries. The workshop dates are May 29 – June 12, 2024.

Character Breakdowns:

The workshop is looking to cast 7 actors to play multiple roles stemming from the original documentaries. A note about gender: The works include people from across the gender spectrum, all gender identities are welcome to indicate interest in any of the roles. Roles include:

  • 1x African American male, age 30-65
  • 2x African American women, ages 30-65, one of Jamaican heritage, or able to speak with a soft Jamaican accent
  • 2x Caucasian males, age 30-65
  • 2x Caucasian females, age 30-65

 

Submission Details:

  • Link to a video self-tapes or an existing show reel. Preferably of a short speech of contemporary theater of your choice.
